A Child’s Dream Conference Scholarship

Applicants must be a current student of Art Education

It was the dream of ten-year-old Amerie Jo Garza to become an art teacher. Amerie was one of 19 students and two teachers who lost their lives on May 24, 2022, at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. To honor her dream, A Child’s Dream Conference Scholarship provides funds for a student currently enrolled in an Art Education program at a Texas college or university to attend the TAEA Annual Conference. The experience of conference attendance will help develop their teaching skills and connect them with the art education community.

Applications are being accepted for this scholarship for the upcoming TAEA Conference, please apply by October 18. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed by the Texas Art Education Foundation Board of Trustees. Please note the additional submission components requested under SUBMIT below. For application assistance, contact Tim Lowke, Chairman at tim.lowke@txartedfoundation.org

Applications are incomplete until a University Faculty Statement is returned as a PDF to Tim Lowke, TAEF Chairperson at tim.lowke@txartedfoundation.org.
